Organization Statement

The SHAEF/ETOUSA Veterans & Friends Association in a non-profit organization of World War II veterans who served in SHAEF(Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force) or ETOUSA(Headquarters European Theater of Operations U.S. Army) or in units which were attached to the two headquarters. It is also open to friends of the association. A major purpose of the organization is to pay tribute to the memory of our supreme commander, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Members can participate in annual reunions, trips, and receive a quarterly newsletter, The SHAEF Communique, free to those in good standing. Annual dues are $20.00 U.S. Our association was formally organized in 1985. We have located over 800 SHAEF vets in the United States and abroad who have participated in the twenty-five reunions to date-

2009 Reunion Cruise

Enchantment of the Seas


It is a little earlier than usual to start firming up plans to attend the 2009 reunion of the Association but the choice of a cruise to the Caribbean requires meeting deadlines of the cruise line.

Travel agent Gary Wheatley has worked out plans for our cruise aboard the Roayl Caribbean Cruise Line's Enchantment of the Seas. The ship will depart Fort Lauderdale at 17:00 October 3, 2009, and return to Fort Lauderdale at 07:00 October 8. Ports visited will be Georgetown, Grand Cayman Island and Cozumel, Mexico.

Mail Call

Info on Sgt. Meredith?

My British Grandfather served with SHAEF and was based at the London Headquarters for a time and then in Holland. I do not have any details as it was never something he talked about and I only discovered this after he passed away in 2001.

His name was Edwin George Meredith, DOB 18/05/1916. Intially he served with the Staffordshire Regiment. I believe he was a stff sargeant there. He was awarded the American Bronze Cross or Star?

I would love to receive more details if anyone can...
