Organization Statement

The SHAEF/ETOUSA Veterans & Friends Association in a non-profit organization of World War II veterans who served in SHAEF(Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force) or ETOUSA(Headquarters European Theater of Operations U.S. Army) or in units which were attached to the two headquarters. It is also open to friends of the association. A major purpose of the organization is to pay tribute to the memory of our supreme commander, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Members can participate in annual reunions, trips, and receive a quarterly newsletter, The SHAEF Communique, free to those in good standing. Annual dues are $20.00 U.S. Our association was formally organized in 1985. We have located over 800 SHAEF vets in the United States and abroad who have participated in the twenty-three reunions to date-

Dearborn, MI Hyatt


Dearborn, MI is welcoming an October 12-15 gathering for the 24th annual reunion.

The Dearborn Hyatt, a stylish state-of-the-art, AAA triple diamond, 16-story hotel with 772 guest-rooms is in the fashionable suburban Fairlane Town Center of Dearborn. The committee has negotiated a group room rate of $109 plus tax for the reunion. The Town Center includes five major department stores, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sears, Marshall Fields, J.C. Penny and Lord and Taylor as well as 180 other shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. It is near Greenfield Village, Automotive Hall of Fame, IMAX Theater and Ford Headquarters and proving grounds.

This year (and next) Germany will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the beginning (26 June) of the Berlin Airlift and the end of the Soviet blockade of West Berlin (12 May).
