on a space available basis for two days before and two days after the designated reunion dates. This will especially helpful depending on
planned arrival time in Dearborn. One of the planned events is presently set for Friday, the 11th, and involves a trip to the Ford Rouge Factory. This will require being at the hotel by 1 p.m. for transportation to the plant. No private cars allowed. One is immersed here in a "multisensory" theater, given a bird's eye view of the Rouge Complex and then moving along on an elevated walkway above the assembly line for Ford F-150 trucks. This busy Friday would be rounded out by the customary welcoming reception at the Hyatt Regency. It will be held in the revolving Rotunda Ballroom on the hotel rooftop, which gives a view of the city skyline. Saturday will be filled with a visit to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. The Henry Ford Museum (which is not part of the Ford Motor Company) has been called Henry Ford's attic. But it is not just a collection of artifacts, it is a collection of the ideas that gave birth to them. "It celebrates ordinary people with extraordinary ideas." There are 12 acres of artifacts in this sprawling institution. Entering Greenfield Village is like stepping into an 81-acre time machine. Carriage rides are planned for this visit, which will include a stop for lunch. This places takes you back to the sights, sounds and sensations of our past. There are 81 authentic buildings. "Rediscover America in Greenfield Village." Since the Saturday locations are so extensive in area and detail, it is felt many may wish to return on Sunday on their own as there are no planned events until the customary farewell dinner. This will also be held in the Rotunda Ballroom atop the Hyatt Regency. The hotel restaurants facilities include Giulio and Sons which serves regional Italian cuisine, seafood and chops in a sophisticated setting. For intimate events there are three private dining rooms. The Archimedes Bar is a comfortable lobby bar featuring a 30-foot long glass mural. Also in the lobby is Perks Coffee Bar which serves Starbucks beverages and a variety of fresh-baked pastries, sandwiches and salads. Final schedule for the reunion events and prices will be announced in the June issue of The Communique. Reservation forms will be mailed then. That issue will also include the registration form for the reunion events as well as the prices per person. This form will also require a registration fee of $20. Hotel registration must be handled individually. The deadline for both the hotel and reunion registration will be September 10th.
